Privacy Policy

NeighborShare is committed to protecting all of our clients personal and private information.  At no time, will NeighborShare provide any personal or private information to any external resource without explicit prior consent from our clients.  The following areas outline the steps and guidelines NeighborShare implements to ensure that these Privacy Policies are met.

Why we need Personal Information

NeighborShare's main focus is on improving communication channels.  NeighborShare requires various types of personal information to ensure this communication between its members and their respective sites.  NeighborShare also requires personal information to help validate any and all change requests to ensure the validity of the requester.

Collection and Consent

NeighborShare may ask for your name, email address, phone number, street address, and other personally identifiable information when you create a new account.  NeighborShare may also ask for input and participation in online surveys,  special promotions, and other site specific offers that we may provide. NeighborShare also collects demographic information which is not unique to you, such as your postal code and site member totals.  NeighborShare may also use "cookies" to track how visitors and clients use our Website. A cookie is a commonly used piece of software that a web server can store on the end users computer and be used to identify the visitor on their next visit to NeighborShare.com  Additional non-personal information about your computer that is automatically collected can include your IP address, browser type, and usage times. By using NeighborShare, you consent to our policies and practices.

Information Use

The information collected is primarily used to operate and maintain the quality of service for our clients and to provide statistical information to NeighborShare to ensure client site availability and performance.  NeighborShare does not sell, rent or lease any personal information to third parties. NeighborShare may share non personal data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis and demographic research. All trusted partners are prohibited from using any information provided to them except for the explicit nature of the request from NeighborShare.  Your personal information will never be provided to any of our trusted partners or third party vendors without your expressed approval.

Protection

NeighborShare has implemented physical and technological processes, as well as personnel guidelines and procedures for keeping your personal information safe and secure. NeighborShare works with our clients to provide secure access areas that contain information that our clients designate as secure.  These "secured access areas" are designated by the clients.  Any personal information provided or posted to the site outside of such areas, will be accessible to all authenticated site users.  NeighborShare strongly recommends reviewing the need for any personal information posted these areas.  All "secured access areas" are accessed using an ID and password combination.  It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your own ID, password and computer. Although we cannot take responsibility for any theft, misuse, unauthorized disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction of data by a third party, we will make every reasonable effort to prevent and correct any such occurrences.

Disclosure

If you disclose personally identifiable or sensitive information outside either NeighborShare's or a clients "secured access area", this information may be collected, viewed, and used by third parties. NeighborShare will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process submitted to NeighborShare or one of its client sites; (b) protect and defend the rights, both physical and intellectual of NeighborShare or other client sites, or (c) act under severe circumstances to protect the personal safety of NeighborShare's clients.
