Have Additional Questions?
Why would our community, association or subdivision want a
portal
site?
NeighborShare was developed in order to
help promote and improve communications between community groups and residential communities.
Having a NeighborShare portal site allows members to gather and share information
amongst themselves and also with board officers, committee members, property
managers and others in a quick and easy manner. With a NeighborShare portal site,
members who miss a meeting or a newsletter don't have to miss out. They can
catch up and get involved on their own time. The Internet has become a powerful tool in our
society as whole, and with that, NeighborShare wants to help you create a more
informed community.
There is a one-time, $199 setup fee, to build your site.
Then a monthly hosting fee, which can be billed in convenient
monthly, quarterly
or annual payments, which is based upon the size of your community. This cost can be
quickly subsidized by our Preferred Contractors system. See
our Preferred Contractors page for details.
NeighborShare also provides a method for generating revenue
through the advertising of Preferred Contractors. These Preferred Contractors
are screened and only come with excellent references from you and your neighbors.
Painters, Landscapers, House Cleaning Services, Carpenters, Plumbers and Electricians, to
name a few. This benefit is two fold. Members
find dependable reliable services while advertising revenue
can fully subsidize the hosting cost of your NeighborShare portal
site.
This is most likely due to SPAM filtering. Check your email
SPAM filter, your email will come from a NeighborShare email
account.
After NeighborShare has created your portal site, one or more
people in your community become the "Portal Administrators". This person or
persons will be assigned a special "administrator" password that will allow them
to add and maintain all of the necessary information for your portal
site. This includes, but is not limited to, adding and maintaining
the calendar entries, announcements, surveys, new users on the
contact list,
newsletters, documents, links, and much more.

NeighborShare utilizes portal technology making it very easy with
browser-based administration. The only requirement for the Portal Administrator(s)
is to be able to connect to the internet with Internet Explorer.
Its as easy as surfing the web. Microsoft Office 2003 is required
for certain functionality. All changes the Portal Administrator makes are immediately. This
duty can be spread over multiple
community volunteers or committees to make it even easier. If you have
questions,
free E-mail support is always available.
Absolutely! As part of the site creation, NeighborShare provides
a Pictures Library on the portal site. It is simple and fun you use.
With all plans your portal site would be hosted
under the NeighborShare domain. So, for example, if your community were called
"Woodmont", then your web site address could be
"www.NeighborShare.com/Clients/Woodmont". If your community want to
have its own unique web site address (domain name), we can accommodate that for
you.
If you would like your own domain name for your
portal site we have the ability to accommodate that for you. The current fee for
this is $75 for the first two years and $40 per year after that.
It depends on specific search engines.
Some over time may find your
site and list your search
results. A more common way of being listed with the large search engines is to
request that they list you. NeighborShare does not submit your web site to any
search engines. However, if you are interested, we would be
happy to provide you with a list of popular search engines that
allow you to submit your site for free.
With NeighborShare you will find a friendly
and courteous staff, dedicated to providing best in class customer service
to our clients. We are committed to the successful utilization of your
NeighborShare portal site. We will work with you from your site's
inception, through it's debut to your members and every step along the way.
Domain authentication is used so that NeighborShare can leverage secure
client access.
Host your site with an up-time greater than 99.95%, that is
fully redundant. Your NeighborShare Portal Site is actually an active
web-based portal technology that dynamically alerts every user to ANY
changes ANY user makes to the site. NeighborShare sends an email at the
frequency the user selects, immediately, daily or weekly. Also NeighborShare
provides the search capability throughout the entire site. NeighborShare provides periodic maintenance
to the database in order to keep your site functioning properly and
efficiently. The fee also covers web hosting and any Email or phone support your Portal
Administrator may need.
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft
PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat (PDF), HTML, Plain Text, JPEG image, or
GIF image. The first four of these formats are viewable with FREE
viewers readily available on the Internet.
Absolutely not! NeighborShare will not sell or share members' names, address, phone numbers or other
data to third parties. Your members' personal data is just that,
personal. Please review our Privacy Policy for additional
information.
If you have any questions that were not
covered, please feel free to use our Feedback page to contact us at your convenience
and we will be happy to reply about how NeighborShare can work with you to meet
all of your needs.
